Today, the Atlantic Council of Montenegro is celebrating 11 years of its existence. During the 11 years, the Atlantic Council has become recognized as an essential platform for navigating effective shifts in the political and security-related scenes. During the 11 years of its existence, through its activities, the Atlantic Council of Montenegro has contributed to raising awareness of the Montenegrin public about the Euro-Atlantic values and about the significance of the Montenegrin NATO membership. In this manner, the Atlantic Council has achieved one of its primary goals, set at the very beginning of its work.
Since Montenegro’s responsibilities and obligations do not end with the act of joining NATO, in future, the activities of the Atlantic Council will be aimed at providing expert, scientific and research support and knowledge necessary for adequate responses to modern-day security challenges and for the reinforcement of the democratic capacities of the Montenegrin society. Therefore, the Atlantic Council of Montenegro will continue to stimulate dialogue and discussion about critical international issues with a view to enrich public debate, as well as to give its contribution to peace and security preservation and to strengthening the role of NATO in the SEE region.
