Milica Pejanović Đurišić
Prof. Dr. Milica Pejanović Đurišić served as the Minister of Defence in the Government of Montenegro from March 2012 to November 2016. During that period, the focus was on Montenegro’s membership in NATO, which encompassed the implementation of comprehensive reforms in the defence and security sectors. Montenegro received the invitation to join the NATO Alliance on December 2, 2015, followed by full membership in 2017. Prof. Dr. Pejanović Đurišić is a member of the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network. Previously, Prof. Dr. Pejanović Đurišić served as the first ambassador of Montenegro, following the restoration of independence, to France, the Principality of Monaco, and UNESCO. From 2004. to 2006. she was the first ambassadorof the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro to Belgium and Luxembourg. In the period from 1992 to 2001, she was a member of the Parliament of Montenegro, and in the first democratic elections in Montenegro, she was elected as a member of the Presidency of Montenegro (1990-1992).
Prof. Dr. Pejanović Đurišić holds a PhD in the field of electrical engineering-telecommunications and has continuously built her academic career. She is a full professor of telecommunications and wireless communications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro and the director of the ICTResearchCenter. She has achieved significant results in research and innovation, which have been published in books, over two hundred scientific papers, project studies and reports, tutorials, and invited lectures. She has also gained significant professional and industry experience as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Telekom Montenegro (1999-2002), as well as the Chairwoman of the Board of the first Internet service provider in Montenegro (2001-2002). She has regular engagements as a consultant in the field of information and telecommunication technologies for numerous companies, the European Commission, ITU, and participates in a range of global professional associations and initiatives in the field of information and communication technologies.
