Strategic Cooperation with International Partners in Overcoming Security Challenges

A delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDS) in the United Kingdom, composed of representatives from several countries, visited the Atlantic Council of Montenegro on May 13, 2025.

Representatives of the Atlantic Council of Montenegro and the Digital Forensic Center met with the delegation. During the meeting with the 20-member delegation, political and security challenges in Montenegro and the Western Balkans were discussed.

The discussion addressed current regional and geopolitical developments, their impact on the European security architecture, Montenegro’s EU membership prospects, and the role of civil society in strengthening democratic institutions and transparency.

Special emphasis was placed on the issue of malign foreign influence in the region and the ways in which anti-democratic regimes attempt to slow the European integration of Western Balkan countries.

The importance of strategic communication and continued cooperation with international partners in overcoming challenges that threaten democratic processes and regional security was emphasized.

This exchange of views with the prestigious London-based institution — which educates high-ranking military and civilian officials from around the world — once again confirms the relevance of the Atlantic Council as a key regional actor within the broader European security framework.
